Commends Canada Deputy High Commissioner Lagos for Promoting Nigerian Cultural Tourism Potentialities


The Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre Esq, has extended heartfelt commendation to the Deputy High Commissioner, Canada Embassy in Lagos for hosting a remarkable Tourism Bazaar at their No 4 Anifowose Street, Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria 

 The event held on Thursday 4th December 2023 showcased and promoted the rich cultural tourism potentialities of Nigeria, paving the way for enhanced collaboration and exchange of cultural experiences between both nations.


The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism recognizes the diligent efforts of Aissatou Seck, Counsellor (Management) and Consul, Deputy High Commission of Canada in Lagos, along with her team, which includes Muanya Nnaka, Zaya Kuyena, Arinze Ndoeche, Ololade Falobi, Elizabeth Adedigba, and Teniola Giwa. 

Their proactive approach and dedication in organizing this event have significantly contributed to strengthening cultural ties and fostering mutual understanding between Canada and Nigeria.


The Tourism Bazaar served as a unique platform to exhibit Nigeria's rich cultural heritage, traditions, history, and natural attractions. The immersive experience enabled participants to witness the diversity and beauty of Nigeria's touristic offerings firsthand. This event has undoubtedly helped to promote Nigeria as a top-notch travel destination and encourage tourists and travelers to explore the hidden treasures Ekiti State and other regions have to offer.


The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development expressed sincere appreciation to the Canada Embassy in Lagos for their unwavering support and commitment to fostering cultural exchange. The successful collaboration between the embassy and relevant stakeholders, including local communities, artists, artisans, tourism agencies, and tour operators, has led to the promotion of Nigeria's cultural tourism potentialities on a global scale.


Furthermore, the Director General encourages other diplomatic missions and organizations to follow the lead of the Canadian Embassy in Lagos and contribute to the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage and tourism in Nigeria. By working collectively, we can unlock the immense economic opportunities and social benefits that cultural tourism offers.
