DICK VAN DYKE,86, MARRIES HIS 40 YEAR-OLD MAKE-UP ARTIST

Dick Van Dyke, 86, married his 40-year-old make-up artist Arlene Silver on Leap Day.

The actor told RumorFix the decision was "spur of the moment" and that 29 February felt like the best day to tie the knot.

Dick and Arlene met at the SAG Awards six years ago, when the octogenarian was "bowled over by her beauty" as she passed him in the green room.

He hired her as his personal make-up artist, they became friends and then fell in love in the last couple of years.

Arlene says her new husband is full of happiness and has an "infectious spirit" while Dick thinks being a newlywed is "wonderful" and believes in Arlene he has found his perfect life partner.

The Diagnosis Murder star was previously married to Margie Willett. They wed in 1948 and had four children before they divorced in 1984. He then lived with Michelle Triola until her death in 2009.
