Why you should not visit Ido Ekiti between 20- 25 Nov.2023?

why you should not visit Ido Ekiti between the 20th and 25th of November 2023..

?

Honestly speaking, I don't know why. Walai! If there is any town in Nigeria that you must visit, especially within the 20th to 25th of November, it must be Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Ido Ekiti is the headquarters of Ido Osi Local Government and is blessed to have a cosmopolitan person as the King, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, who is also the Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers. Furthermore, it is the town that hosts the Great Ekiti Parapo College and accommodates one of the best Federal Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria, led by the respected Prof Kunle Ajayi. Ido Ekiti is also home to many great and distinguished personalities such as Prince Akintunde Olayisade  Senator Cyril Fasuyi, the first to be elected a Senator in Ido Ekiti, Hon Barrister Olofinlade  , Pastor Olu Alo, Tunde Ajayi(T-Cash), Engr. Segun Adekuajo, Doc. Kayode Akinlade, Dr. Bolatito Obisesan, Doc. Dapo Ayeni, Hon. Sola Ogunsina, Hon. Biodun Fawekun , Prof Kayode Familoni, Dr John Moyo Ope Ekundayo (one of the best Leadership Teachers in Nigeria), Biodun Abe (one of the best Artistic Directors in Nigeria), Terry Adewale (an immigration lawyer based in the UK), and many others."

it is only a wicked soul who will counsel you not to visit this glorious town which will celebrate Ajodun Ido during the days above. If you are not in Ido Ekiti on these days, particularly on Wednesday 22nd when Ido Ekiti will exhibit all food items made from corn, and Friday 24th when Ido will put on an extraordinary street carnival and crown it at night with Arewa Ido Ogagan, and on the 25th which will be the Grand finale. Apart from these lofty programs, anybody who visits Ido on these days will have the opportunity to see and visit the following:

1. The first car to be owned, purchased, and driven by an Ekiti Oba.

2. The first one-story palace to be built by an Oba in Ekiti.

3. The picture of the first Oba to own a car and build the first one-story palace in Ekiti.

4. And one of the first obelisks ever planted on Ekiti soil.

You can see why you must be in Ido Ekiti from 20th to 25th November. See you there and meet the history of the first Oba Ekiti to buy a car and live in the first-storey palace."

Ajulo Commends Ondo Elders for Proactive Steps in Political Crisis Resolution

Ajulo Commends Ondo Elders for Proactive Steps in Political Crisis Resolution

In a significant move towards restoring political tranquillity in Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, OON, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Egalitarian Mission for Africa (EMA), has applauded the wisdom demonstrated by Ondo State elders.

Ajulo said the State has, again, demonstrated its resourcefulness in the area of politics, governance and human development. He said "Ondo elders have demonstrated the uniqueness of the Omoluabis we are known for and it is commendable"

The state has been grappling with a political crisis, exacerbated by the absence of Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and the contentious impeachment process of Deputy Governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

At a pivotal meeting hosted at the residence of Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti on Monday, Ondo State Elders and Leaders Forum converged on the residence of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti to discuss the peace and development of the State amidst current political turbulence.

Egalitarian Mission for Africa, a not-for-profit international Organisation, which Ajulo is the Chairman, amid the continued unrest, had on 16th October in a widely publicised press statement urged the State elders to intervene in the crisis which has generated unwarranted enmity among political players and their followers in the State and indirectly disrupted smooth governance. He made phone contact with some of the elders concerning the matter.

In the statement, Ajulo speaking for the Organisation expressed optimism in Ondo State's ability to address its challenges independently without external intervention.

He eulogised the elders for heeding the call and rising to help Ondo State in navigating its political challenges, saying "nothing is more crucial than such a meeting at this time"

The lawyer also expressed gratitude to the Leaders and Elders of Ondo State, using Pa Reuben Fasoranti and Bashoun Seinde Arogbofa as points of contact. He appreciated the royal fathers and religious leaders present at the meeting for heeding the call for peace.

"Again, I want to call on other Ondo State leaders absent from the meeting to unite for the benefit of the State and its people; Chief Olu Falae, General Bajowa, Prince Adetokubo Kayode SAN, former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, former Deputy Governors, former Speakers of the House of Assembly as well as Chief Judge and head of the State judiciary.

Also, I call on Senators representing Ondo State at the National Assembly, using Senator Niyi Adegbomire, SAN as a point of contact, Ondo State Representatives members, other traditional rulers using the Deji of Akure, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo as contact, and religious heads with the Archbishop of Ondo Diocese of Anglican Communion, Bishop Simeon Borokini and Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdulmalik Yayi-Akorede as contacts respectively to join this noble cause." He said.

Ajulo expressed that the assignment is a joint effort, saying "the collective efforts of everyone are important in fostering a harmonious and progressive Ondo State."

This epochal traditional initiative will take place during the celebration of *Odun Ade*, a historical traditional festival when the people of Imesi glorify the eminence of the town, showcase its royal grandeur, and fan the ember of primordial relationships.

This *fraternal bonding war* is rooted in the historical pedigree of the present Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti, whose grandmother; *Supelewa*

at inauguration of Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort !

Written by  Wale Ojo-Lanre  Wednesday, 23 October 2013 00:00, Nigerian Tribune

“THE Lord Almighty will enhance and enrich the life and breath of Governor John Kayode Fayemi who has enhanced the beauty of this Ikogosi Warm and Cold Water Spring  and who has also ensured  a breath of new life into  this once abandoned asset of my community in particular and the state in general.”

These were the words of Mr Benjamin  Adeniji , an indigene of Ikogosi – Ekiti  who thanked God to have witnessed the beautiful metamorphosis of  “our mysterious blessing from God which has been left untouched and uncared  for by many administrations before him, and on which he has effected a 160 degree turn around from a state of hopelessness to an intercontinental attraction site.

“God will continue to bless Governor Kayode Fayemi for not making his  promise to ensure the turnaround  of Ikogosi  just a political campaign issue but turning it into a reality beyond our imagination. It all shows that he is not only a promise keeper but a responsible governor with a sense of purpose. God will make him to   succeed in anything he lays his hand on,” Mr. Adeniji prayed.

These and others encounters of people and dignitaries from various strata of the society who witnessed the inauguration of the Ikogosi Warm and Cold Water Springs Resort affirmed the view that generational commendations and prayers await those who took a step further in ensuring a radical rejuvenation and the resuscitation of an abandoned and hitherto decrepit communal asset, turning it into an exciting and fascinating wealth-spinning project for the benefit of the community.

And this was the portion of Dr Kayode Fayemi on Saturday 19 October 2013 when he inaugurated and declared open  the  Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort to the glory of God and  for the benefit of the  public at Ikogosi Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The inauguration ceremony which was packaged in conjunction with other two events namely the launching of a book on Dr Fayemi “Regaining the Legacy of Kayode Fayemi “  and the decoration of those who were worthy to be called the Cultural ambassador made that day one to remember in the memories of the  multitude of guests , special dignitaries, eminent personalities all over the world and  the people of the state who witnessed the occasion.

According to Hon  Adewale, an ex-councillor, “Only those who know and are conversant with the tribulation of Ikogosi  spring as a hitherto wasted tourism asset and money spinner for the state would appreciate better what Governor Fayemi has done. For me and my family here in Ikogosi, he has done what no one ever dreamt of seeing and doing in Ikogosi and for the Ikogosians. He will forever be remembered in the history of the town, the local government and the state.”

The swimming poolIlluminating the views of the indigenes of Ikogosi was the speech delivered at the ceremony by the state Commissioner for Culture and tourism, Chief  (Mrs.)  Ronke Okusanya, “ Ikogosi Warm and Cold Water Spring, which exits in its natural self suffered an era of ignoble neglect from the past administrations who failed to develop the site and did next to nothing in utilising its potentialities for economic development of the state.”

She pointed out that the massive infrastructural development being witnessed today was  a vision of Governor Kayode Fayemi who is poised to give Ekiti tourism a facelift for economic development, wealth mobilisation, empowerment agent, revenue spinning and employment generation.

Mrs Okunsanya revealed that the crystallisation of Dr Fayemi’s vision on  Ikogosi Warm and Cold  Spring Resort had cultivated respect, dignity and recognition for the state and Ikogosi town, adding that “ it has successfully enabled the site to be listed as one of the seven natural wonders in Nigeria.”

She highlighted some of the facilities at the resort  and affirmed that Ikogosi could now boast of an accessible road , a standard swimming pool which enjoys the piping of warm water directly from the source, amphitheatre, conference seminar  centre, over 100 rooms, good security ,nature trail route, a gym, shopping centre, palm wine drinking grove, all  serviced with good road network, seamless electricity and water supply. Mrs. Okunsanya assured all of Governor Fayemi’s determination to make sure that notable tourism sites in the state are enhanced, developed and turned to revenue spinning and employment generators.

“The development of the tourism sector and the agrarian passion being displayed by Governor  Fayemi is not just a whiff of his brain or an attempt to dance to the gallery of popularity but a conscious determination to enhance all the tangible and intangible tourism assets of the state by bringing out the inherent potentialities for the good of the people and glory of the state.”

Governor Fayemi and wife with the newly decorated Ekiti cultural ambassadors cutting the Ikogosi inauguration cakeMrs Okunsanya pointed out that  Governor Fayemi was faithful and committed to the 8- point agenda for development, of which the development and enhancement of tourism potentialities of the state happened to be number six.

“Governor Fayemi has promised not to rest on his oars until Ekiti becomes a foremost tourist destination in  Africa,” she said. Okunsanya called on the members of the public, tourism stakeholders, tourists and the good people of the state to continue supporting Governor Fayemi, who  she said had a lot to offer the  tourism sector and Ekiti people in particular. She added that the rapid development of the state within the spate of three years was just a  tip of the iceberg, as the next phase would turn the resort to one of the best in Nigeria.

Dr Fayemi, in his own testimony, said that his mission at the Ekiti Government House was to pursue his vision of unleashing positive change on all shades and sides of Ekiti.

“I determined to light up the dark tunnels  and straighten the labyrinth of underdevelopment, wretchedness and apathy  by bringing about radical changes in the way things were,  and the way things  were being done in Ekiti . I determined that there should be and must be a revolutionary departure from the old order of abject squalor , mindset  of primitivism and stereotyping which have contributed to morbid stagnation and truncation of  progress of the state. We in Ekiti must sever ourselves from medieval thinking and posturing by aligning our course of reasoning, acts, and conduct with modernism, particularly in the areas social relationship and economic reality of the IT age.

“I decided to organise my thoughts and garner my wit in not only touching the lives of my people in Ekiti but touching up those consequential natural blessings which lay about wasting and begging for enhancement for so many years for the economic and social benefits of the indigenes.”

Governor Fayemi pointed out that “Ikogosi warm and Cold Spring Resort which we are inaugurating today is one of the numerous tourism projects which we have in the pipeline and which are potent instruments of empowerment, wealth creation, revenue spinning and employment  generation.”

Pupils of Gift and Faith Nursery and Primary School, Ado-Ekiti, on tour of Ikogosi Warm Spring ResortHe pointed out that Ekiti is a paragon of tourism and “we have determined also to create a tourism zone  in  two local governments with numerous tourism assets,  while giving definition of purpose to other tourism sites scattered in different parts of the state. My target is to ensure that every person living in Ekiti is not only a tourism agent of change but feel the economic impact of the sector.

“And this will come to pass by the grace of God and cooperation of the good people of Ekiti as this state will soon become the most preferred tourists’ destination in Nigeria.”

Governor Fayemi informed that what was being inaugurated was just the Phase 1 of the Ikogosi Tourism Project as the Second Phase will include the construction of 150 five star hotel, a heli port, an ecotourism enclave of over 50 hectares of land, a cable car to link Ikogosi with another wonderful waterfall which is just a five minutes drive from Ikogosi called Arinta waterfall in Ipole Floro.

The traditional ruler of Ikogosi, Oba Elijah Abiodun Olorunnisola who was visibly happy and elated, commended Governor Fayemi for bringing the best out of the tourism site. “I am the happiest person on earth today.  And I know and am sure that the founder of this town and even the aura of Ikogosi Warm and Cold Spring is praying for Dr John Kayode Fayemi for removing the scarlet of ugliness and dressing it up royally, regally and in the most dignifying manner and also removing it from the wretched and rickety antediluvian bamboo bench and placing it on a gold plated throne for intercontinental respect, regards and viewing. This is wonderful and to us in this town. It is marvellous. What he did today shall be told and retold from one generation to all generations.”

The monarch said, “We cannot quantify or estimate the economic benefit of what  Dr Fayemi has done by the enhancement of the beauty of this Warm and Cold spring in this town. We cannot. Only to just pray for him and wish him success in whatever he opines to do. I must confess that the economy of my people has improved tremendously since the first day the reconstruction and rehabilitation started. We are feeling the impacts of this singular monumental work of his. We are grateful. My people are happy. And it shall be well with him, his family and good people of the state.”

Alhaji Yayha Idris, a native of Erio – Ekiti, about 25 kilometres from Ikogosi Ekiti, said “Ikogosi project is an investment in the right direction. I congratulate the state for having a man who has a perfect grip of what to do with state money. We in Erio Ekiti are feeling the reverberating effect of this project.  This Ikogosi always supplies customers for my brother’s Star Rock View Hotel located in Erio. It is not only a blessing to Ikogosi but us all. God will bless Dr Fayemi for this.”

Some foreigners at the source of the warm spring Toyin Fakile, an Ise – Ekiti indigene but US-based event manager and planner who was home on vacation: “ What I am seeing here is unbelievable. I was here in those years. My late father brought us here. Well, the transformation is unbelievable. This is unique and commendable. I am only tasking the host community and the people of the state to continue to support the government to be able to bring more development to the state.”

Gideon and Lateefat of Gift and Faith Nursery and Primary School who were brought on an excursion to Ikogosi that Saturday was very happy and said “We love this place. It is fine. It looks like some of the ones being shown on Nickelodeon. God bless Governor Fayemi for making this place so beautiful for us to visit in Ekiti.”

And the host community was not left out in showing its gratitude as its spokesperson, Pa Benjamin Adeniji, came forward to show appreciation and present the gift from the community to the governor who had done them proud.

“Governor John Kayode Fayemi, of the governors which have ruled this state, you have proved to be the best to this community. We are feeling the impact of good vision, responsible governance and able leadership. You have been wonderful. The Ikogosi community presents to you this ram to show our gratitude and to assure you that we are going to make you proud in all your endeavours as you have made this community and Ikogosi warm spring the cynosure of global eyes. Thank you for this great deed you have done. Governor Fayemi, we are proud of you.”

*OF AJULO, THE TRUTH PINCH, AND THE OUTCRY*

...Re: Kayode Ajulo: The Political Marabout And His Self-Service Sermon

By Abayomi Adebayo

*_20- Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: 21- She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, 22- How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? (Proverbs 1:20-22)_*

Engaging in social and public issues that concern the government necessitates a discerning mind capable of separating personal biases from objective truth. It requires wisdom to understand that attacking the messenger only perpetuates division and impedes collective growth. Embracing wisdom in such engagement means recognizing that honest criticism and open dialogue are essential for societal progress.

Therefore, the profitability of employing wisdom in public issues lies not in attacking the messenger who speaks of the truth regarding government issues but in engaging with the very essence of the problem at hand. But when individuals choose to vilify the messenger, they divert attention from the core concerns that require thoughtful analysis and constructive action.

Such was the intent of one pseudo-Comr. Greg Ayenigbara (Oba-G) in an article titled "KAYODE AJULO: The Political Marabout And His Self-Service Sermon," published on the 4th of July, to discredit the honest and patriotic efforts of Kayode Ajulo in advancing the course of fairness and decorum in the governance of Ondo State.

"Ayenigbara," designated as a Sculptor among other appellations, indeed did a very poor and unimpressive job in his attempt to patronize Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and the good people of Ondo State and divert attention from the motive of the article, which ultimately is to assassinate the character, rubbish the personality, and discredit the splendid works of Dr. OluKayode Ajulo OON, as expressed by the title of the scrawny piece.

The profits of wisdom emerge through constructive engagement by focusing on the issues rather than engaging in ad hominem attacks on the messenger. Wisdom was lacking in the piece as none of the salient concerns raised by Kayode Ajulo in his press statement was addressed by the pseudo-writer, who instead dissipated energy trying to puncture a rock of iron ore using an office pin.

I will talk more about the personality of Ajulo and not succumb to the temptation of attacking the "person" of Ayenigbara and his paymasters who have allowed their minds to be so entangled in their own web of deceit to the extent of recoiling at the bitter taste of truth served by Kayode Ajulo. The press statement must have disrupted their comfortable facade and challenged their distorted plans and false narratives about Governor Akeredolu's succession plan.

The truth, with its piercing light that graciously reveals the veiled reality and shatters illusions, and exposes the raw essence of existence, is despised in the camp of those who thrive on perversion and wickedness. Truth, in its unwavering and unyielding character, threatens the wicked's very existence, prompting them to cloak themselves in denial, hatred, and resentment. For them, the truth is a bitter pill to swallow because it reveals the depth of their own moral decay.

This is what Kayode Ajulo, their "political marabout," served. A sucker punch that hit so hard below the belt that their intestines nearly rushed out of their mouths. So, their reaction is not unexpected. But if that puny punch is their best shot and typical of what their arsenal is made of, they are in for a long ride on their shaggy path towards 2024.

For me, the profitability of divine and acquired wisdom lies in the way and manner Kayode Ajulo was able to dismantle their flawed political permutation by analyzing and warning against perceived injustices within the hierarchy of the government in the absence of the Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu. To them, this is a selfish sermon from Ajulo.

What sin has Kayode Ajulo committed by advocating for a government that thrives on transparency, accountability, and fairness? He was not the first to make such a statement in recent times. What more could a reasonable mind offer amid a cold hierarchical war of succession in government, liable to impede productive governance and affect the well-being of the people? What Ajulo displayed with that press statement is patriotism and genuine concern for the development of Ondo State.

Ajulo is well known for critically evaluating policies and scrutinizing actions and events before venting his opinion on subjects. He is not known to be sycophantic in his approach; he praises developmental policies and does not hold back his criticism if the same government falls short of expectations, especially on constitutional matters.

Now, the news about the power play between the ranks of government appointees, governorship aspirants, and others alike is already public, and the moral obligation to guard their reputation lies in their hands. That is of less concern to me. What I found sacrilegious is that anyone would deliberately rubbish what a prominent son of the soil like Kayode Ajulo represents to gain political mileage. This is why "Ayenigbara" wrote, and this is why I write.

I have known Kayode Ajulo very closely for years, and it becomes necessary for me as a good ally to educate "Ayenigbara" about him, knowing that Ajulo will not bother to reply to a pseudo-character like the self-styled political activist for obvious reasons. Firstly, the writer is not bold enough to ascribe an original identity to the hatchet job. Secondly, Ajulo, who started activism over thirty years ago when he was elected as the Branch Secretary of the National Union of Hotels and Personal Services Workers (NUHPSW), an affiliate of the NLC, in his teens, would understand that "Ayenigbara" does not grasp that activism is more than a gathering of public protesters, and protest is a result of calculated advocacy. And lastly, for a man who cherishes his humble beginnings, rising from a backwater street in Ibadan, then Akure, to national and international prominence, talking about his pedigree and achievements would make him sound immodest.

Ajulo runs over sixteen Non-Governmental Organizations centred on advancing the course of human development. One of those organizations is the Egalitarian Mission for Africa (EMA), an international platform that promotes Equity, Equality, Rule of Law, and Good Governance with observer status in the African Union and ECOWAS, and has presented position papers at the United Nations.

The same EMA started the Save-A-Prisoner-A-Day initiative in 2006, under which he acted as an attorney and saved over 4,000 Awaiting-Trial detainees, among others. He was also the counsel to over 167 displaced residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the demolition exercise by the former Minister of F.C.T. and Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. He single-handedly funds these organizations, with no donors, and in fact, none of them has a bank account. So, what is activism?

It is astonishing how, in this age of technological advancement, an individual fails to search Google for Ajulo's contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, #Endsars protest, and Owo massacre. A simple search combining Ajulo with these events on Google would suffice to dispel this ignorance. For instance, regarding the Owo crisis, "Aiyenigbara" would have been better informed to know that Ajulo was an early caller at Owo, where he condemned the heinous act and pledged a bounty of 10 million Naira in an effort to apprehend the perpetrators.

Some of the individuals mentioned in the article, who were praised for their contributions, are better positioned to provide the writer with the information he needed about Ajulo. Many of them have known him since his childhood or have been his allies since the beginning of his legal career. I vividly remember him mentioning one of these names in one of our discussions when I asked why he chose law over other professions while growing up. He responded, "I have always loved to debate, and the legal profession provides such a platform."

That person is Wunmi Olatunji, who would willingly inform "Aiyenigbara" and his paymasters about the excellent debater that young Ajulo was as a student at the prestigious Aquinas College, Akure. Hon. Olatunji attended St. Louis Grammar School at the time and, like Ajulo, was involved in a series of OSRC debate programmes hosted by the late Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ranti Akerele. The pseudo-writer could also inquire with Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, about Ajulo's selflessness in using his resources and services to fight injustice in all its forms. Dr. Tunji Abayomi would graciously describe the character of Ajulo, who became his Head of Chambers just two years after being called to the Bar.

Only a delusional mind would believe that the best available strategy for a smart lawyer like Ajulo to become the Attorney General of Ondo State is through political analysis. So, when Ajulo frowned upon the illegal removal of the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, he must have been strategizing to become the Attorney General of Ekiti State, right? Ajulo must have also been planning to be the Attorney General of other states in Nigeria and various nations such as Gambia, Ghana, Senegal, Sudan, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Austria, Germany, the United States, Ukraine, and Russia for having opinions on their politics.

To the extent of my knowledge, Kayode Ajulo's law firm in Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, and the UK is flourishing, and the financial turnover of his chambers, without sounding immodest, exceeds the annual budget of the Ondo State Ministry of Justice. The writer must be aware of this fact; hence, he posited that Ajulo needs the position to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). If that were the case, the current Attorney General of Ondo State, Sir Charles Titiloye, would have become a SAN.

It is noteworthy that Kayode Ajulo was recently conferred with one of the highest national honours in Nigeria, the Officer of the Order of Niger (OON), which is a testament to what he is made of, and also enough cue for a not-too-lazy mind to check his profile. His efforts in using the instrumentality of law and providing insightful interpretations have made noble contributions to governance and democracy in Nigeria. Ajulo is a distinguished advocate of excellence, whose ingenious examination and solutions to socio-political challenges have contributed to nation-building.

It is distasteful that an individual who assigns such good titles to himself would be so uncultured as to bring another man's innocent family into a public subject. It shows a lack of family love or perhaps a lack of understanding of the importance of family. Nonetheless, I perceive it as an indication that there is another aspect of Ajulo's life that the public has not celebrated. I believe Ajulo should find the writer and file a defamation suit against him for tarnishing his character.

Ajulo is successful because he maintains an upright standing with his family and God. Contrary to the author's speculation, Ajulo has a large family, and his home is strong with no complaints from any quarter. "Ayenigbara" and his masters have invited the wrath of God upon themselves by involving an innocent daughter and referring to another man's wife as a concubine. Ajulo has never denied his marital status, and he loves and embraces all his biological and adopted children. The records are available at Ondo State Children's Homes and other Children's Homes, which show the number of Ajulo's adopted children, all of whom attend the best schools in Nigeria and overseas.

Ajulo has an enviable reputation in the legal profession, social activism, community activism, and politics. He has served as counsel in high-profile legal matters, taught law in higher institutions of learning, including the state-owned university, AAUA, supervised law students, and authored several articles on diverse areas of law, arbitrations, and humanities. Some of his notable achievements in the legal profession are primarily pro bono services to the "common man," for which he is renowned as a lawyer "who manages the rich to defend the poor."

He has offered legendary legal services to Africa, Nigeria, Yorubaland, his tribe, and the leadership of the popular Odua Peoples' Congress. Ajulo's well-documented service to the elder statesman, Chief Edwin K. Clark, and the leaders and people of the oil-rich Niger Delta region cannot be discounted. Among his many services, he acted as a consultant to the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), securing the recovery of the London-Paris Clubs refund, which amounts to over USD 2,600,000,000 and NGN 649,343,000,000.00, respectively.

In recognition of his community development efforts, he was conferred with the honorary chieftaincy title of Bamofinlewe of Akure Kingdom at a very young age in 2008. He also became the 11th Mayegun Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, among other honorary chieftaincy titles. He is a Knight of the St. Paul of the Anglican Communion and holds the title of Lord, as a farmer and entrepreneur in the UK, hence being addressed as Lord Abraham Ajulo in the United Kingdom.

Ajulo served the state as the Board Chairman of Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC), and it is on record that he never drew a salary. Even when the Corporation was probed, not a single Kobo was associated with him. As a celebrated son of Ondo State, Ajulo has the moral standing to express his thoughts on any issue concerning the state.

To me, it indicates mental fragility when an individual becomes agitated by Ajulo's advice of voluntary resignation instead of working against the government. It was an honest call for self-assessment. The person who suggested it publicly and voluntarily resigned from the position of National Secretary of the Labour Party. Only a political opportunist would be angered by such a suggestion. So, just because Ajulo's recent comment doesn't align with your current political agenda, it doesn't make him incorrect.

Truth has no colour favourites, and as they say, the taste of a pudding is in the eating thereof. Therefore, it is important to fully embrace the truth presented by Ajulo. If it proves to be savoury and aligns with your integrity, then your stance remains intact. However, if it turns out to be sour and challenges your beliefs, it may be time to reconsider your position.

Chioma Success: Ojo-Lanre Drags Obi, LP, Mother, FG, AGF To Court For Rights Violation

Chioma Success: Ojo-Lanre Drags Obi, LP, Mother, FG, AGF To Court For Rights Violation

Former chairman of the Oyo State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, has dragged the Labour Party, LP, its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the Federal Government, the Attorney-General of the federation, AGF, and the mother of Chioma Success, Ms Queen, before a Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, for the enforcement of the child rights of Chioma Success and her protection from abuse, exploitation and necessary safety guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution, as amended, Child Rights Act, UNCRC (1989), ACRWC (1990) and the Child Rights Law of Lagos State.

In a suit filed on his behalf, as a concerned Nigerian and friend if litigation, by his counsel, Richmond O Natha-Alade, of the Sun-Natha Alade and Partners, Ojo-Lanre accused the first, second and third respondents of violating the rights of Chioma, by allowing her participation in a political rally, and using her picture on the social media.

The plaintiff’s counsel, Natha-Alade, on behalf of his client, sought an order of the court declaring that the action of the first, second and third respondents, Obi, LP and Ms Queen respectively, in inclusion and allowing Chioma’s participation in “an adult political rally, which took place in Lagos on October 1, 2022” as an infringement in the rights of the toddler, and “is illegal, unlawful, risky, exploitative and a violation of the rights of a child.”

The plaintiff, who is a tourism buff and former Senior Special Assistant on Tourism Development to the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, further water the court to declare that the act amounted to “child abuse and a contravention of the Child Rights Act, Child Rights Law of Lagos State and the United Nations’ Convention on Rights of a Child.”

Ojo-Lanre,a journalist is therefore seeking among other reliefs: a declaration that the conduct, utterance, acceptance, non-condemnation and tweet of the first respondent via his official Twitter handle, @peterobi, on October 2, 2022, posting the picture bad video of Chioma Success to his over 2.2 million followers, “praising and addressing Chioma Success as a ‘poster child’ is misleading, unlawful, illegal, exploitative, and an abuse, contrary to section 33 of the Child Rights Act, Section 29 of the Child Rights Law of Lagos State, and Article 36 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, 1981.”

Other reliefs are: an order of the court directing the first and second respondents to delete forthwith their respective tweets and other posts on their social media accounts, made on October 2, and or thereafter relating to Chioma Success’ rally with the first, second and third respondents; and order mandating the fourth and fifth respondent to withdraw Chioma Success, an abused toddler, from the care and custody of the third respondent and fostering same to any reliable welfare homes under the accreditation and supervision of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs or other appropriate authorities fro proper care, education, protection and upbringing until she clocks 18 years of age; an order awarding the damages of ₦50 million jointly and severally against the first, second and third respondents for the violation of the child Rights of Chioma Success; an order directing that the damages sum be held in trust for Chioma Success by the fourth respondent, who shall delegate the Ministry of Women Affairs and/or relevant authority to enforce/receive payment mad open an interest yielding account on behalf of Chioma Success, of which Chioma Success shall have access to the fund therein when she attains the age of 18 years.

Natha-Alade, The plaintiff’s counsel, also sought other reliefs from the court, including: an order retraining and/or prohibiting the first, second and third respondents, their allies, friends and members of their political party, aides, agents, privies, associates or any person of same political interest with them from posting, circulating, printing the picture of a Chioma Success and/or further violating her rights or the rights of nay child; an order disqualifying the second respondent from participating in the 2023 presidential election for condoning, adopting, encouraging and allowing the usage of a toddler (Chioma Success) in it’s rally of October 1, 2022, hence violating her rights as a child; an order mandating the fourth and fifth respondents to initiate criminal complaints against the first, second and third respondents for exploitation and flagrant violation of the right of Chioma Success in line with the necessary provisions of the Child Rights Act; and for such order or further orders that the honourable court may deem fit to make in the circumstance of the case.

EFCC nabbed Ado Poly Rector over alleged misappropriation of 5 billion naira

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Dayo Hephzibah Oladebeye over an allegation of misappropriation of funds.

Officers of the anti-fraud agency of the government of the federation were reportedly sighted on the campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, 26th October 2022.

Our impeccable sources who craved anonymity for security reasons hinted that some members of Staff of the Polytechnic had earlier been invited to the Ilorin, Kwara State Office of the anti-graft agency over an allegation of funds misappropriation reportedly leveled against the Management of the Institution.

Further investigations however revealed that the Management of the Institution was said to have misled the federal government by conniving with the Salaries and Wages Commission, an agency responsible and accountable for payment of federal government workers’ salaries, wages and arrears, to pay undue promotion arrears to selected members of Staff of the Institution.

It was further disclosed that the paid arrears were refunded by the concerned Staff to the purse of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti after series of threat circulars to stop their salaries upon failure to remit same as directed by the Management of the Polytechnic.

Information has it that the three industrial unions, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), the Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti chapter were accomplices in the charade perpetrated by the Management of the Institution.

All efforts made to reach out to the Rector, Engr Dr. Oladebeye proved abortive as his cell phone contact was not available.
