Man kills his year old son and burns wife with Pressing Iron

For 36 year-old Mrs Mercy Nnamdi, the woman whose one-year-old son was allegedly killed by her husband recently in Ago, Okota area of Lagos, over her husband’s allegation that she was sleeping with his father, life could never have been more cruel.
This is because never in her wildest imagination had she envisaged that a man she had known almost all her life could mete such inhuman treatment on her. As you read this piece, Mercy is going through excruciating pains in a private hospital in Okota where doctors are battling to save her life.
In fact, the once bubbling woman looks a shadow of herself, as medical report showed that she sustained a third degree burns from the hot iron her husband of two years used on her on Saturday, April 7 2012, which was exclusively reported by Vanguard.

Presently, the badly burnt woman maintains a particular position, by sleeping on her back. She wears an adult pampers when she eases herself, with a tissue paper by her side, with which she cleans the fluid coming out from the burns. Help, as gathered, was far from the Imo state-born woman, as none of her neighbours attempted to go and find out what was happening when she was desperately shouting for help. It was learnt that their neighbours failed to respond to her cries for help because it has become a daily occurrence.

Crime Guard gathered also that on several occasions, some of the neighbours invited policemen from Ago division who cautioned her husband after which he was made to sign an undertaking never to raise his hands on his wife.
Family sources hinted that signs of danger in the marriage reared its ugly face early after the two love birds fell in love 16 years ago, when Mary was barely 22 years old. But she was apparently blinded by love, hoping that her heartthrob would outgrow his anger someday, which was never to be.

Narrating what led to her being a patient in the hospital, Mary stated, “It all happened on a Saturday. I had prepared boiled yam, awaiting the arrival of my husband. After a long wait, I decided to eat mine and left his on the table. He came back few minutes to 11pm and went straight to bed. Then at about 1 a.m., power was restored and he went to put off the power generating set and switched over to electricity.
After that, he started ironing his customers’ clothes because he is a dry cleaner.
I was later woken up by the cry of our one-year-old baby who apparently needed breast milk. All the while, we were outside before power was restored. Before retiring inside, I took my bath and fetched water for him to have his.

The unforgettable night
I was fast asleep when I was woken up by a sharp pain on my back. I thought it was a night mare. But when I opened my eyes, lo and behold, my husband was planting the hot iron he was using on the clothes on me. Immediately I turned, he planted it on my chest. When I raised my hand to prevent it, he planted it on one of my hands . By then I did not know what to do. I started screaming and calling on my neighbours for help. I raised my leg to prevent him, again, he landed the hot iron on me.
As he planted the hot iron hard on my flesh, he would use a screw driver to peel off the flesh. At a point, I became too weak to shout. I begged him to stop but he would not. Rather, he would ask me to tell him how many times his father slept with me. Even in pains, I begged him to listen to himself and imagine what he was saying. My response seemed to anger him the more because he would plant it harder, leaving it on my skin and at the same time, asked me to tell him the truth.”
At this point, Crime Guard asked if she was guilty of the claim. She grimaced and replied, “How can that be? The father already has a wife.” Pausing for a while and staring at the ceiling , a position she has been maintaining for several hours, she continued, “ at that point, my baby woke up and started crying . I begged him to allow me breast feed the baby .
But before I could finish the statement, he placed the hot iron on my breasts, threatening to kill me if I shout. As he lifted the iron, I saw that the flesh from my breast had stuck to the iron surface. Again he pressed it harder on my stomach, leaving it there. I managed to turn, only for the iron to land on my lap.

He told me there was no way of escape for me that night, that members of his gang were outside to take my corpse to an unknown destination by the time he finished with me. At that point, I knew the end had come for me. I managed to shout out for help with all the strength in me but I could not.
At that point, he forcefully took Ebuka from the bed and went outside. I decided to go out because I did not know what he would do next when he came back. I cannot tell how I crawled out of the room. But I found myself in the kitchen naked, from where two men who saw me gave me wrapper to cover myself.
“As I was there, trying to fathom how I would escape from the compound, somebody shouted that my husband had killed my child. That was the last thing I heard. I guessed I passed out because I later opened my eyes and found myself in the hospital.”

Residents of Number 3, Lambe street, Ago confirmed to Crime Guard that they simply refused to go to Mary’s rescue that night because it was late and also that her shout for help had been one too many .
One of them said, “ Since they started living as husband and wife, there had never been a time we did not experience shout or crisis from their one-room apartment. It is worse any time the man came home drunk. We have even gone to report to the police when it became too much because we did not want a situation where he would kill her one day and we would be held responsible. Even at that, he did not stop.
“Several times, the woman had wanted to go back to her family but she wouldn’t. Even her father-in-law had advised her to leave when she travelled home last December because he was tired of the endless reports of his son battering his daughter in-law.”
Weeping, after pausing for a while, Mary recalled how he met her 37-year-old husband. “ We knew each other since 1996. The relationship blossomed until 2010, when he went for introduction in my village. I left my hair dressing skill and moved in with him with the hope of continuing later.”
But that was never to be as she revealed that rather than continuing learning hair dressing, she started selling pap, all in a bid to make ends meet and apparently as a demonstration of her love for Henry.
“He started showing his real colour later. He started by refusing to drop money for house keep and even when I begged him to rent a shop for me, he didn’t. Rather, he used the money to drink beer and smoke . When I advised him against his drinking and smoking habit, he would flare up and the next thing would be to hit me. Several times I have begged the police to help me beg him not to raise his hands on me but he wouldn’t”

Another predicament befalls Mary
Sadly, the anguished woman is faced with another predicament which is her inability to pay her medical bills. Already, Crime Guard gathered that her bill had amounted to N200,000 . Following this development, the hospital is threatening to stop treatment. Presently, the dressing of the burns which ought to be done on daily basis has been extended to once in two or three days, as a daily dressing cost s N10,000.
Sobbing uncontrollably and at the same time questioning her choice of partner, she revealed that her family members had not shown up since the incident occurred, as none of them, according to her, was aware of the incident.
“My mother must not hear of this because it will kill her. She is presently taking care of my sister who just put to bed in Owerri. I can not reach my relatives either because my phone is not with me and I do not have their phone numbers off hand.”
Crime Guard learnt that since the incident took place, her father in-law had been responsible for the hospital bills. But there is little Pa Nnamdi could do as the bill, as gathered, had gone beyond his capacity. Hospital sources disclosed that though their management had tried to attend to Mary’s case, there are indications that it might discharge her if the accrued bill is not cleared.

One of the doctors who identified himself simply as Eze explained that “she had a third degree burn and her case may deteriorate if she does not receive adequate care. She even fainted last Tuesday because she was not given food and her people lacked the fund to bring her back to normal state.”
He further disclosed that Mary was rushed to the hospital in a state of coma, adding that , “ The husband used pliers on her skin and decimated her. Then a hot iron was applied on her face, body chest, and her two breasts. Meanwhile, she has not been informed of the demise of her one-year-old son considering her present state.”

However, the alleged perpetrator of this dastardly act, Mr Henry Nnamdi who was arrested by neighbours, is currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department , Panti, Yaba. Efforts to speak with him proved abortive.

Actress beheaded by jealous Colleagues

A young Bollywood star, Meenakshi Thapar, has allegedly been kidnapped and beheaded by two fellow actors.
The 26-year-old actress met Amit Jaiswal and his lover Preeti Surin on the set of her latest film, 'Heroine', The Daily Telegraph reports.

It was there that Jaiswal and Surin heard of her family's wealth, and allegedly hatched a plot to kidnap her.

The duo are said to have invited Thapar to a small town on the Nepalese border, where they took her hostage and demanded 1.5 million Rupees (£18,000) from her parents, and threatened to force her into pornography if they were not paid.

Although Thapar's parents are thought to have transferred some money to their daughter's captors, the young star was killed soon after.

A detective working on the case told The Telegraph some of the harrowing details:

"She was strangulated in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while travelling back to Mumbai.”

The case is ongoing.

So this is the racist Cake.?..Eaten even by the Swedish Minister

Swedish culture minister Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth has come under fire since the photos and youtube video of her cutting a cake designed in the shape of a naked black woman in Stockholm to mark World Art Day went viral.
Liljeroth was pictured laughing and joking as she cut the macabre cake designed by Afro-Swedish artist Makode Aj Linde. The treat featured a black woman’s naked torso with the artist’s own head, painted black, at the top. Once cut open, the cake sponge was red, depicting blood.
The firestorm has come from many quarters, but the most vocal critics are members of the Afro-Swedish community. The National Afro-Swedish Association branded the event a ‘racist spectacle’.
“In our view, this simply adds to the mockery of racism in Sweden. According to the Moderna Museet (the art centre where the event was staged), the 'cake party' was meant to problematize female circumcision but how that is accomplished through a cake representing a racist caricature of a black woman complete with 'black face' is unclear.”
Jallow Momodou, a spokesman for the association, and national co-ordinator for the European Network Against Racism in Sweden, in an article published yesterday in The Guardian of UK, insists that “racism and racist depictions against black people are common in Sweden.”
To buttress his stand, he points to certain incidence in the past, including one in October 2010 where a white Swedish man went on a rampage in Malmö, shooting more than 20 people of colour and killing one. “The killer was officially considered to be a lone wolf with psychological problems rather than a terrorist with racist motives, and he has still not been prosecuted,” he noted.
Momodou who narrated his experience with racial profiling as a black Swede, is calling for the minister’s resignation. Another spokesperson of the National Afro-Swedish Association, Kitimbwa Sabuni, has also called for Liljeroth’s resignation. It is the association’s position on the matter. “Taking part in a racist manifestations masquerading as art is clearly crosses the line and can only be interpreted as the Minister of Culture supports the Moderna Museet’s racist prank,” Sabuni wrote.
The ongoing controversy re-echoes the age long debate about artistic licence. It is often said that artists should not be held to the same moral standards as the rest of us. The artist who made the cake has said he was using performance art to portray the horror of female genital mutilation (FGM), a practice that is still common in parts of Africa.
I have watched the video and I must say I am not comfortable with it. It offends my sensibility as a woman and oversimplifies the issue.

I find it difficult to fix how the portrayal I saw in that video will help stop the problem it claims to be raising awareness of. It celebrated the act rather than condemn it. That those who gathered to show concern about a practice that clearly dehumanises womanhood, should entertain themselves with an art illustrating that, is itself condemnable.
My uneasiness is more with the artist than the minister. His work is such an ugly grotesque representation of a human being. Very appalling, sickening, deeply disturbing and shameful. Do you need to stage rape explicitly to an audience to win their sympathy against it? I won’t deem Liljeroth a racist for what has happened.
It is praiseworthy that she has acknowledged that. “While the symbolism in the piece is despicable, it is unfortunate and highly regrettable that the presentation has been interpreted as an expression of racism by some. It is perfectly obvious that my role as minister differs from that of the artist.
Provocation cannot and should not be an expression for those who have the trust and responsibility of Government representative. I therefore feel it is my responsibility to clarify that I am sincerely sorry if anyone has misinterpreted my participation and I welcome talks with the African Swedish National Association on how we can counter intolerance, racism and discrimination,” she noted in a statement today.
Artist should balance their artistic licence with considerations about the freedom and dignity of others. There is something unseemly when our artistic liberty translates to deliberate mistreatment of others. You can be helping my cause by dehumanising me.

Haemophilia :a condition where the blood does not clot properly, which can lead to excessive and often internal bleeding and bruising

World Haemophilia Day in 2012 is dedicated to raising awareness about the serious blood condition, in the hope of closing the treatment gap for sufferers worldwide.undefined

Haemophilia is a condition where the blood does not clot properly, which can lead to excessive and often internal bleeding and bruising. This can happen all over the body, causing serious problems, particularly when it occurs in the brain or around joints.
[Related story: Newborns to be tested for more inherited illnesses]

Haemophilia is an inherited condition that is passed down on the female side, but affects males. You probably remember history classes that Queen Victoria was a carrier, with one of her sons and two daughters affected by the condition.

There are two types of Haemophilia – A and B. The difference between them is simply the clotting agents in the blood that sufferers lack. Haemophilia A relates to clotting agent VIII, while B is linked to clotting agent IX. The amount of clotting agents sufferers have influences how seriously they will be affected by the condition. Some mild cases are not discovered for many years and may only come to light after an accident or surgery. Others may be very apparent from childhood when small knocks and cuts won’t stop bleeding.

Symptoms to watch out for include big bruises, prolonged bleeding, tightness in joints without pain, loss of movement and joints feeling hot or swollen.

When there is bleeding in the brain, symptoms include vomiting, convulsions, sleepiness, double vision and trouble walking.

When it comes to treatment, there’s no permanent cure for the condition, so sufferers are often given regular injections to help reduce the chance of severe bleeding.

There are various awareness events taking place today, and groups are hoping to raise awareness in countries where understanding, diagnosis and treatment of haemophilia are lacking. To find out more, visit Haemophilia.org.uk

Seven ways sex is good for your health

Seven ways sex is good for your health
© Yuri Arcurs - Fotolia.com
Don’t worry about the calories in those Valentine's Day chocolates – a proper celebration in the bedroom can help keep you in shape.
In fact, sex can benefit your health in many ways. Here are seven reasons to give and get a little love – not just this special day, but any time.

Good for the heart

Sex is good for your heart. Like any physical exertion, sex is a form of cardio-exercise, which gets your heart pumping faster and helps it stay in shape. What's more, studies have shown that men who have sex two or more times per week cut their risk of a fatal heart attack by half.

Helps you lose weight

Like any form of exercise, sex helps you lose weight. Having sex for 30 minutes can burn off 85 calories. To put that in perspective: 15 minutes on the treadmill could burn up to 200 calories; 42 of these half-hour sessions, then, could shave a pound off your weight.

Boosts your immune system

While it's possible to contract a wide range of diseases, both from sex and from simple contact with others, safe sex between healthy partners can make you better equipped to fight illness.
Those who have sex once or twice a week have been shown to have higher levels of immunoglobulin A or IgA, an antibody which helps protect you from respiratory diseases like the cold and flu.
Don’t go overboard, though – in studies, those who had sex three or more times a week had the lowest levels of antibodies.

Reduces the risk of prostate cancer

For younger men, sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer. Researchers have found that men in their 20s who had five or more ejaculations per week were one third less likely to develop the cancer in later life. Although they found no such correlation for older men, you could try to prove them wrong.

Relieves stress

There's a medical explanation for the mood boost sex gives you. The brain releases endorphins during and after sex, and these neurotransmitters create a feeling of euphoria while masking the negative effects of stress.
Researchers have also found that sex lowers your blood pressure, which is good for your health and allows you to better keep your cool in stressful situations.

It relieves pain

Endorphins and lower blood pressure also mean that sex relieves pain. Endorphins are released during sex because of the heightened levels of the hormone oxytocin in your body. This has been known to alleviate arthritic and menstrual pain, among other things. Lower blood pressure can also help relieve migraines.

It helps you sleep

In addition to relieving stress and pain, the oxytocin generated during sex helps you sleep better. Sex relaxes you, promoting deeper, more restful sleep. What more do you need?

Stress lowers chances of having baby

© pf30 - Fotolia.com
Taking it easy may be the offhand advice doctors give to women who cannot conceive, but new scientific evidence confirms that stress does indeed play a role in conception.
Researchers at Oxford University and the US National Institutes of Health measured stress in women trying to get pregnant and found that those who were most stressed were least likely to conceive.
Stress joins other well known pregnancy risk factors such as excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and obesity.
The study measured two stress hormones in healthy women between the ages of 18 and 40 who were trying to conceive. It found that women with high levels of adrenalin had a 12 per cent lower chance of conceiving when fertile as compared to those who were less stressed.
"Irrespective of the day or frequency of sexual intercourse during the fertile window, women with higher concentrations of alpha-amylase were less likely to conceive than women with lower concentrations," the study said, referring to the enzyme that is an indicator of adrenalin levels.
However, women who were found to have a higher level of cortisol, which is a measure of chronic stress, were no less likely to conceive than women with lower levels of the stress hormone.
Dr Cecilia Pyper, of the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford, said: "The findings support the idea that couples should aim to stay as relaxed as they can about trying for a baby.
"In some people's cases, it might be relevant to look at relaxation techniques, counselling and even approaches like yoga and meditation."
The findings are published in the journal Fertility and Sterility.

Baby born with six legs fighting to survive

A newborn baby boy is fighting for his life in Pakistan, after being born with a rare condition that has left him with extra limbs.

The baby, who is thought to be one of parasitic twins, appears to have the extra limbs of his conjoined twin, who failed to develop properly.

[Related story: Newborns to receive more tests]
Doctors are assessing the little boy, who has been moved to Karachi for treatment. They are considering asking for foreign help in the complicated operation to remove the extra limbs.
The baby’s dad Imran Shaikh has made a plea for help to fund his son’s treatment. The baby’s mum, who is also her husband’s cousin, is recovering from the caesarean birth in the family’s home town Sukkur, around 280 miles from Karachi.

“Operating on such a baby is not an easy task as proper assessments need to be done first,” explained Dr Jamal Razza, from the National Institude of Child Health in Karachi. “We need to figure out whether the baby has his twin’s limbs or his own. We also need to consider how much the internal organs have developed as the latter could complicate matters and decrease the baby’s chances of surviving.”

The rare condition is thought to affect fewer than one in a million babies.

Wigan beats Arsenal.Football getting more interesting here really!

Arsenal 1 Wigan Athletic 2: match report
Peerless: Wigan Athletic goalscorers Franco Di Santo (left) and Jordi Gomez celebrate at the Emirates Stadium after adding Arsenal's scalp to Manchester United's and Liverpool's
One of Arsène Wenger’s favourite instructions to his young Arsenal team is that they should always play with what he calls the handbrake off. They certainly did just that on Monday night but, in Wigan Athletic, they unexpectedly found themselves careering into an immovable object.
Two goals in the space of 60 seconds ultimately decided this game in Wigan’s favour, with Arsenal punished for a reckless and often kamikaze approach. Yet with the two teams sharing almost 50 shots during the 90 minutes, it was a match which could, in all truth, have ended with just about any scoreline.
The final outcome has huge implications for both the top and bottom of the Premier League table. Wigan, who had been in the relegation zone from December until last week’s win over Manchester United, have opened a five point cushion over Bolton in 18th. The race for the two remaining Champions League places is also now wide open, with Tottenham and Newcastle able to move within two points of Arsenal in third should they win their game in hand.
Arsenal began the match as they evidently intended to continue by attacking from just about every position with Thomas Vermaelen, their centre-back, flashing a shot narrowly wide of Ali Al-Habsi’s post. Bacary Sagna and Andre Santos were also pushing forward from their full-back positions in an obvious attempt to exploit Wigan’s bold 3-4-3 formation.
Such adventure almost gained an instant reward as Yossi Benayoun forced an acrobatic save from Al-Habsi following an accurate Sagna cross. Arsenal remained on the front-foot and quickly forced a corner but, not for the first time this season, proved to be at their most vulnerable when they are on the attack.

Serie A - Serie B star dies after cardiac arrest on pitch

ivorno's Piermario Morosini has died after suffering a cardiac arrest during an Serie B game at Pescara on Saturday, prompting the Italian football federation to postpone this weekend's professional games.
Piermario Morosini - 0

"We have done everything possible to save him but he never regained consciousness," doctor Leonardo Paloscia said.
Another doctor at the Pescara hospital said the 25-year-old, a former Italy under-21 international who was at Udinese until January, was dead on arrival at hospital.
The news comes just weeks after Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba suffered a similar problem in an FA Cup match before making a remarkable recovery.
Serie A said in a statement that the federation had postponed all the weekend's professional matches.
Morosini, born in Bergamo and a former player with the city's Atalanta team, fell to the ground with no one around him in the 31st minute.
He got up looking confused and then collapsed again as medics and then an ambulance rushed on to the field.
The Serie B game was abandoned with Livorno leading 2-0 and Morosini, who was orphaned as a teenager and also lost a brother, was taken to a Pescara hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Defending Serie A champions Milan were due to host Genoa in Serie A that afternoon.
At first Milan said there would be a minute's silence but then the public announcer told fans already in the stadium that the game would be postponed along with all other remaining Serie A matches this weekend.
There was applause but also some whistles.
The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), which confirmed Morosini had suffered a cardiac arrest, announced in a statement that all other sporting events taking place this weekend would hold a minute's silence.
The issue of players' health has long been in focus across the game with extra medical and heart checks being brought in throughout many leagues.
Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed during Cameroon's 1-0 victory against Colombia in a Confederations Cup match in June 2003 in Lyon, France and died shortly afterwards aged 26.
The shock over that high-profile death, one of at least 20 in the last 20 years in professional leagues, led to changes but some believe more needs to be done.
In the wake of Bolton's Muamba suffering a cardiac arrest while playing at Tottenham Hotspur in an FA Cup quarter-final on March 17, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini - an Italian - said English medicals were not as good as in his homeland.
Muamba too fell to the ground with no one near him and doctors later said he had been "in effect dead" for 78 minutes while his heart did not beat on its own. He was revived and has gone on to make extraordinary progress in hospital.
He is now walking and recently tweeted a photograph of himself sitting up in bed and smiling.
The Italian medical system hailed by Mancini did not help Morosini, however. Tearful Livorno players travelled to the hospital to pray alongside his body.
Italy is used to sporting tragedy in recent years.
Last October, popular MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli died after a crash at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Franco Ballerini, the coach of Italy's cycling team, also died in a rallying accident in 2010.

Whelan: Manchester United victory was Wigan's greatest ever result

 Dave Whelan

A Shaun Maloney goal meant the Latics finally ended a run of 15 straight defeats against Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to move out of the relegation zone and leave the Red Devils facing a fight to secure their 20th league title.
And after the disappointment of seeing his side miss out on a point after Chelsea scored twice from offside positions at Stamford Bridge last week, Whelan paid tribute to Roberto Martinez’s man-management skills.
Asked by Sky Sports News if the victory was his greatest achievement since taking over Wigan in 1995, Whelan said: “I would definitely say yes.
"We’ve never even taken a point off Manchester United – even when I was a player with Blackburn, we only ever got one draw with United so for us to beat them last night was a fantastic milestone.”
He added: “After playing so well at Chelsea and basically being robbed of a point, the lads were low so it was up to Roberto to pick them up.
"I went into the dressing room before the match and there was a buzz in there and you could feel there was such determination among our squad.”
The result meant Wigan moved two points clear of Lancashire rivals Bolton, who currently occupy the final relegation spot.
The Latics face a tough trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Monday night, Whelan admitted he is not taking Premier League survival for granted.
“That is something hat only time can answer,” he said.
“We have some tough fixtures left but [the way] the players played last night, especially in the first-half, means we have a good chance.
"There is no team who can play better than we did in the first half last night. I’ve every confidence in the squad and Roberto.”

So why did stunning teenager fall to her death during police raid? First pictures of girl, 18, who plunged from 17th storey of tower block.

She had model looks and the chance to turn her life around after becoming a criminal when just a child.

But Shanise Paris-Goff died at the age of 18 when she fell from the 17th floor of a tower block during a police raid.

Moments earlier, officers had arrived to arrest the convicted robber after she had been on the run for nine months.

She had been tracked down to her boyfriend's high-rise flat and is thought to have panicked on seeing the officers.

The teenager scrambled on to a bedroom window ledge where she plunged to her death.

Yesterday it emerged that Shanise, who dubbed herself 'Reckless Shen', had evaded police and probation officers for months.

They were searching for her after she failed to register with her probation officer following her early release from a young offenders' institution in April last year.

Shanise had served nearly two years of a three-year sentence for a series of muggings, attempted robbery and assault. Scotland Yard appealed for help in tracing her last July but it was not until Tuesday that police attempted to arrest her at the flat in Woolwich, South East London.

On her Facebook page while on the loose, the tearaway taunted them, saying 'Catch me if you can' and '**** the feds and **** the law'.
She was jailed at Croydon Crown Court in May 2009 and released on April 20 last year on licence and subject to a curfew.
The teenager, who also went by the name Shenice and Sherise Steabler, appears to have spent her days posting updates on Facebook about smoking cannabis and moaning about her curfew.
Eight days after her release, she wrote: 'Probation is a lonnnnnnng tome [time]! I'm a criminal get me outta here!'
Then on May 26, she said: '**** dis curfew **** its depresin ma life.' But after breaching the terms of her release by not registering with the Probation Service or turning up to any meetings, her licence was revoked three months later.
After going into hiding, she taunted police on June 17 last year, saying: 'Katch me if yuh kann!'
Friends urged her to change her ways at the beginning of this year, with one asking: 'Where is your life going? Seriously. Think about it.'
But Shanise retorted: 'I hear yuh buh I'm only gonna live once so ima do it my way!!'

In an bizarre rant posted on New Year's Eve, she had written: '**** the new year! Were all gonna die! Hope yuh lot r ready kah I am!'

On her homepage, she described herself as a beautiful, outgoing girl with a loud mouth, writing: 'I'm Only Gonna Live Once So I Do **** My Way!!

'I've Made A lot Of Mistakes In The Short Period Of Time I've Lived Buh I Say **** It S*** Happens Life Goes Orn!' She added: 'I'm One Ina Million!!'

Last night her parents were said to be too upset to speak about her death but friends and family paid tribute on Facebook.

Her cousin, Krystle Goff wrote: 'Ur at peace now. Make sure yuh party hard up ther. I love you xxx.'

An inquiry into her death will be held by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the Met Force's Directorate of Professional Standards.

Neighbours told how they heard a woman scream 'Get off me'.

The two plain-clothes officers who went to the one-bedroomed flat will be questioned about her final movements.

Shortly after they arrived, police said Shanise retreated to the bedroom alone, half closing the door behind her.

Seconds later she fell. Her death was witnessed by children on the estate who screamed in horror.

Officers later arrested her boyfriend Mason Okotie, 18, on suspicion of assisting an offender.
