2 YEAR OLD BOY ACCIDENTALLY HANGED HIMSELF

A toddler died after accidentally hanging himself with a window blind cord as he tried to see his friend out of a window, an inquest has heard.
Arthur Winfield was left severely brain-damaged after the accident at his home in Markyate, Hertfordshire, in January and died later in London's Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The two-year-old was found by his mother Emma after he had gone to his bedroom to collect some toy cars, Hatfield Coroner's Court heard.
It is believed Arthur became entangled with the blind cord after standing on a small stool to try and spot his friend out of his bedroom window, the inquest was told.
Hertfordshire Coroner Edward Thomas recorded a verdict of accidental death and told the family there was nothing more they could have done to save the youngster.

Boy who touched Obama’s hair:

The story behind a photograph showing a 5-year-old black boy touching President Obama's hair—which has been hanging in the West Wing of the White House for more than three years—may be coming to your inbox soon.
The New York Times published the adorable back story on Thursday, and it's quickly become the most-emailed article on the Times' website.
In May 2009, the child, Jacob Philadelphia, was visiting the White House with his father, a former Marine who was leaving his 2-year stint working for the National Security Council as part of the White House staff. The father asked to take a family photo with the president. Jacob said he had a question for Obama, who was then in his fifth month in office.
The Times recounts the rest:
"I want to know if my hair is just like yours," he told Mr. Obama, so quietly that the president asked him to speak again.
Jacob did, and Mr. Obama replied, "Why don't you touch it and see for yourself?" He lowered his head, level with Jacob, who hesitated.
"Touch it, dude!" Mr. Obama said.
As Jacob patted the presidential crown, ... [White House photographer Pete] Souza snapped.
"So, what do you think?" Mr. Obama asked.
"Yes, it does feel the same," Jacob said.
As the paper noted, President Obama has largely avoided discussing race during his first term. But the photo "is tangible evidence" that the president "remains a potent symbol for blacks, with a deep reservoir of support."
"As a photographer, you know when you have a unique moment," Souza told the paper. "But I didn't realize the extent to which this one would take on a life of its own. That one became an instant favorite of the staff. I think people are struck by the fact that the president of the United States was willing to bend down and let a little boy feel his head."

5 things that helped Chelsea to the Champions League trophy

  • The Observer,
Didier Drogba of Chelsea proved invaluable to Chelsea

1. MISSED PENALTIES

Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou and then Arjen Robben at the Allianz Arena; two spot-kicks that should have sunk Chelsea but instead failed to hit the net and kept their dreams of European glory alive.

2. MISSED CHANCES

NapoliBarcelona and Bayern Munich created enough chances in their respective ties with Chelsea to have each won the Champions League10 times over, but they were crucially wasteful, Barcelona especially.

3. WELL-TIMED STRIKES

The margin of victory over Barcelona was fine and, as such, the closing seconds before half-time in both legs of the semi-final tie should be cherished by Chelsea. Didier Drogba scored in that period at Stamford Bridge before Ramires did the same in the return game.

4. SACKING SAVIOUR

The firing of AndrĂ© Villas-Boas after just nine months as manager looked like another reckless move by Roman Abramovich, but he will reflect on that decision with huge satisfaction now. Roberto Di Matteo came in and galvanised the squad towards its greatest moment. The change was an inspired one.

5. DEADLY DROGBA

In what is set to be his final season at Stamford Bridge it was perhaps written in the stars that the Ivorian would make a final, decisive impact

BOY REDUCED TO SKELETON DUE TO 'MYSTERIOUS' ILLNESS

A Saudi newspaper on Thursday published a picture of a boy which it said was reduced almost to a skeleton. The boy is not from famine-hit Africa but from Saudi Arabia, the world’s oil superpower.
Sabq Arabic language daily did not specify the age of the boy,Salman, who it said has been bed-ridden at a hospital in the southern town of Abha.
Doctors told his aging mother that Salman needs to be transferred to a specialized hospital to diagnose his disease and find a treatment. But his mother is still objecting to his transfer on the grounds that she is “much worried about him.”
The boy is the only male in the family after the death of his father. His five sisters have been married and live far away from their village although one of them often comes to help his mother in looking after him.
“He is suffering from a rare disease that has caused him general weakness and continuous loss of weight…sometimes his temperature goes up sharply while he gets infections from time to time,” Sabq reported, quoting Saeed Al Naqeer, information director at the department of health.

33 YR OLD MAN WITH 30 CHILDREN LAMENTS CHILD SUPPORT

You have to say this much for Desmond Hatchett: He has a way with the ladies.

The 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., resident has reportedly set a Knox County record for his ability to reproduce. He has 30 children with 11 women. And nine of those children were born in the last three years, after Hatchett -- who is something of a local celebrity -- vowed "I'm done!" in a 2009 TV interview, saying he wouldn't father more children.

But Hatchett is back in the news this week because he's struggling to make ends meet on his minimum-wage job. His inability to make child-support payments on such a meager salary also means he's back in court again and again, most recently to ask for a break on those payments.

"Yes, we've got several cases with Mr. Hatchett," Melissa Gibson, an assistant supervisor with the Knox County child support clerk's office, said with a sigh.

Hatchett's attorney, Keith Pope, did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Under the law, there's nothing officials can do to force Hatchett to keep his pants on.

"If there's something out there like that, I'm unaware of it," Gibson told The Times, before adding, "It definitely needs to be."

Gibson said Hatchett is believed to hold the Knox County record for most children. (He'd hold a similar record in most counties in the U.S., which might explain why news of his predicament was pinging around the Internet on Friday.)

Gibson said she couldn't say whether any of his children receive public assistance. The youngest is a toddler; the oldest is 14. Asked in a TV interview whether he can "keep up with it all," Hatchett said he knows all their names, ages and birthdates.

Also in a TV interview, Hatchett tried to explain -- in a PG-rated way -- how he managed to end up with so many kids: "I had four kids in the same year. Twice."

When Hatchett is working, he is required to turn over 50% of his wages for child support -- the maximum allowed under law. Child support payments are based in part on the ages and needs of the children.

Some of the mothers of Hatchett's children get only $1.49 a month, reportedWREG in Memphi

A Chinese man has successfully had a tumour the size of a football removed from his face.
Details are scant on the operation performed on Chen Jianguo at Sun Yat-sen University Hospital in Guangzhou, but as these pictures illustrate the change in his appearance is drastic.
The 37-year-old is said to have first developed a small tumour on his head in 1995.

Not wanting to be a burden on his parents, he left the family home in Liandu town, Zhaoqing city in 1998 and decided to live rough.
“I told them that they have to take care of my brothers and sisters,” he told a reporter in a video report uploaded to YouTube in May of last year.
“They can forget they ever gave birth to me.”

It would seem that Chen was prepared for the worst before the remarkable surgery on the debilitating tumour.
“I will receive the operation, even if the risk of it going wrong is large,” he is reported to have said.
“If successful, the first thing I'm going to do is go home.
“If not, I'm glad to donate my organs to anyone who needs them.”

Most diners would choose to cover up in loose-fitting clothing while indulging in decadent Italian cuisine. But in Santa Monica on

Thursday,Rihanna went in the complete opposite direction.
The daring diva wore just a lace bandeau bra and a matching see-through crocheted skirt for her dinner at upscale Italian eatery Giorgio Baldi. Underneath, she appeared to be wearing a tiny thong or no underwear at all.
The midriff-baring outfit was an interesting choice to wear at the establishment, where the most expensive item on the menu is the $90, 2.5-pound Maine lobster.
But the "Where Have You Been" singer, 24, looked excited to flaunt her rock-hard abs and peekaboo ensemble in public, as she demonstrated in the Instagram pic below.

KIM KARDASHIAN IS HERE IN LONDON,CLICK TO KNOW HER VIEWS ON OUR CITY

I’m having such a great time in London. Last night I headed out to appear on Chatty Man and The Graham Norton show before dinner at Zuma!! I love London!! Thanks to everyone here for making me feel so welcome.
Style Snapshot: I’m wearing a Lanvin dress and Celine shoes.

Kim killed this gown,it's snake skin we learnt. She looks good and weather seems agreeable too.A simple look but one that ensures not too much details, not even a Bracelet or Wristwatch. The hair severely pulled back hints at some Victoria Beckham look but that's like comparing two opposites especially in size.A Nicole Scherzinger more like then.

SOLEK SPEAKS:I WILL THROW A THANKSGIVING THE DAY PEOPLE STOP CALLING ME SOLEK

I PREFER TO BE KNOWN AS WONDER BOY-UK BASED NIGERIAN MUSICIAN SOLEK.

Soji, presently more known as Solek has dropped a Joker.A Joker because it is not common to fail when you sing about weddings.Yet this latest video of his AYABA track oozes class from all angles. The serious clarity (well it's DJ TEE afterall) and the array of movie stars like Iyabo Ojo,Muyiwa Authentic,MC/Comedian Jedi and so on ensures one stays glued till the end of the track produced by UK  based ace Producer, Olly Jay(The fast tempo is quite typical of Olly Jay's works) and the mix of Highlife,Juju,Fuji and even a bit of Oldies lent more strength to Solek's versatility. This is a song and video that will rule the airwaves for years. Why? Apart from the theme, you don't go wrong much mixing many genres.Especially when it is well done.

Below is a Klaxi aversion of the chat with Solek last year as published in Thisday Newspapers,Nigeria.Enjoy.

When you decide to bring Terry G,(Gbogbo Ginger),Sauce Kid(Yanke) and a few other talented guys into your musical mix.,you cannot really go wrong.Soji has been able to experiment musically and he will tell you that he can conveniently dabble in all genres. To him, some people might not like it but a lot of people do,and as collaborations go,he has been doing this for over a decade even with his first album. With a four track album released last June in Lagos,he assures that shuttling Nigeria nad the UK he will do more collabos especially on his earlier albums.People who want a versatile, not rigidly Yoruba traditional Singer think Solek first, he adds. With Your Number,Why worry and The Most Wanted featuring Pasuma,Solek is no Pushover. The typical Choir Boy gone secular and a former pratcising Accountant,he knows his onions as many will agree.

British born but Nigerian brought up,he schooled at Loyola College,Ibadan,Osun state  Polythecnic,Thames Valley University and finally qualified as an Accountant in the year 2000.Music he said was not initially about the money hence he maintained a corporate back up plan.

SOLEK,an acronym of Soji and Leke(Leke is also a top musician in London now). They were a duo Band way back in Nigeria.A few people talked about his dropping the name but Soji said loyalty and already being identified with the name made him continue even when Leke landed in London later in 2004.The pair are not together now and Soji's penchant for referring to himself as Wonder Boy made many wonder if he was trying to drop Solek."Everything about me is wonderful as I could play in Lagos in the day and be at an event in London at night ,then be seen in America the next day doing my thing.I would love to drop the name Solek,I would really love to drop it,in fact when I do,I will throw a Thanksgiving Service".It is not easy because people identify me with it. I love being called Wonder Boy.

A lot of people cannot stop referring to his earlier liaison with Mohits Guru ,Don Jazzy and Solek explained that he met two passionate Guys,Michael(Don Jazzy) and another Michael along his Musical journey in London which gave birth to Solek Crew.Yet,his reluctance to be identified as the Leader might have made many assume otherwise.Don Jazzy was the Keyboardist and the Mixer with the  Band working together for four year before parting.

Solek despite shuttling the UK and Nigeria revealed that if he was Nigerian based, his act would have grown more than it is now.He said,he stands as the only UK artiste based in UK and still big in Nigeria.
Many who wish to savour Solek's music throng the exclusive Eko Bar,Hommerton in East London

Soji is married to Comfort,an Indigene of  Edo state in Nigeria. They have three boys.
