"No '50s, no '60s, no '70s; just what I like," Karl Lagerfeld said of his Spring 2012 Couture collection for Chanel. Presented in an Air Chanel jumbo jet — built in the Grand Palais specifically for the occasion and complete with Chanel logo carpet, skylights, and airplane seats — the collection was a "monochrome rainbow" of blues, blacks, and creams, in straightforward silhouettes that moved easily from day to night.
